Dr SJ grew up in Northern Queensland and studied medicine at James Cook University. He then completed his fellowship in General Practice with advanced training in Sports Medicine. He is also currently the club doctor for the Brisbane Roar Football Club. He has worked extensively with athletes involved in a range of sports including the WNBL, Australian Rowing, QLD State Boxing, World Cross Country and National Triathlons.

Services offered include ultrasound guided injections (cortisone and plasma/PRP), sports concussion management and WorkCover injuries.

General Adult Psychiatrist

Dr Evette Stephensen graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from The University of Queensland in 1997. She went on to complete her psychiatric training in Brisbane, earning her Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. She has been working as a consultant psychiatrist in private practice since 2005.

Evette is a general adult psychiatrist, working with people over 18 years of age. She sees people with a range of mental health conditions including but not limited to mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders including obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma spectrum disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Evette’s approach to mental health care includes:

  • Teaching of strategies to help people manage their symptoms

Experience with Chronic Health Conditions

Penny Mackay is a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in the assessment and treatment of adults and adolescents experiencing mental health conditions.

Penny practices using cognitive behavioural therapy and has extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, substance abuse and eating disorders.

Penny has a particular interest in working with individuals with chronic health conditions such as persistent pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, cardiac disease, diabetes and irritable bowel syndrome. Penny holds general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society.

Penny recently moved to North Queensland with her family however still offers telehealth services to existing and new patients.
