Christina has over 13 years’ experience and is passionate about inspiring, educating and empowering both men and women to make their pelvic health a priority, helping them to live their best life.  She takes great pride in working closely with people to make sure they understand their conditions and symptoms, and guide them to being the main driver of their recovery.

Christina commenced her career in Darwin, where she helped create a women’s, men’s and pelvic health physiotherapy service in her workplace, after seeing the need in the region.  She also created antenatal and postnatal hydrotherapy programs to help keep women active during their pregnancy and beyond.  Since working in Brisbane, Christina has supported patients on both the maternity, gynecology and urology wards in the Wesley Hospital.  She was able to offer continuity of care by also supporting them in the hospital’s outpatient centre once they had been discharged back home. 

Christina has completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science followed by a Bachelor of Physiotherapy together with a Bachelor of Exercise Science.  She has since returned to further study and completed many advanced courses and postgraduate courses in pelvic floor rehabilitation and exercise for women.  She is currently completing her Master in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy through the University of Melbourne.

Christina is able to offer treatment in many different areas of women’s, men’s and pelvic health including:

• Bladder and bowel concerns – including incontinence, urgency and constipation
• Pelvic floor dysfunction
• Conservative management of pelvic organ prolapse, including pessary fitting
• Persistent pelvic pain
• Painful intercourse
• Support through pregnancy and postnatally
• Postnatal home visits
• Managing lactation related inflammatory conditions i.e. blocked ducts, mastitis; therapeutic ultrasound can be offered if needed
• Abdominal muscle separation
• Rehabilitation following breast cancer surgery
• Lymphoedema management
• Peri/post-menopausal issues
• Support before and after gynecological surgery
• Support before and after prostate cancer surgery
• Can also offer telehealth appointments when required 

She is committed to providing the most up to date evidence-based care for her patients and ensures this by maintaining current memberships with the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Women’s Men’s & Pelvic Health Physiotherapy special interest group, Continence Foundation of Australia, International Continence Society, Urogynaecological Society of Australasia and the Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia.  Christina also volunteered as a member of the Queensland Branch APA Women’s, Men’s and Pelvic Health Committee in the past, where she assisted in coordinating professional development events for Queensland members and enjoyed this immensely.

When not in the clinic, Chrissi can be found enjoying the Queensland sunshine with her family and exploring all the magical spots this beautiful corner of the earth has to offer.  She also loves motivating and supporting her boys through their sporting commitments, and being their biggest cheerleader on the soccer field.  Christina has a strong connection to her Greek heritage and culture and is able to speak the language.  She is also passionate about cooking delicious food and using this to bring her loved ones together and share stories around the table.  Ask her for a recipe or two – she is more than happy to share!
