Currently we are all being overwhelmed with information and recommendations as to the management of the COVID-19 virus. It is not our intention to add to this body of knowledge, but provide you with specific information about our clinic that is based on the latest information.
In this ever changing health environment we remain committed to providing our staff and patients with the safest possible environment while caring for your rehabilitation needs.
We remain committed to our mission statement:
“Results Physiotherapy – Where everyBODY matters”
To ensure you are able to continue to access your rehabilitation needs we have implemented the following additional measures:
- Social distancing in the waiting room areas;
- Additional cleaning of beds and surfaces in the clinic;
- Hand washing station for use by all visitors to the clinic;
- Removal of sheets from beds; and
- Screening of all patients.
When you attend the clinic, the antibacterial and hand washing station will be available on arrival and departure. Please advise our staff to direct you to this area should you require it.
To protect our staff and other patients we ask that you do not attend the clinic if you:
- are, or should be, self isolating in accordance with Government or Queensland Health advice;
- have been in contact with a person who has been diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus in the past 14 days; or
- have the following symptoms and suspect that you may have the COVID-19 virus:
- Fever or temperature;
- Cough; and
- Respiratory distress.
Should this apply to you, we ask that you call or email us to cancel your appointment or to determine if you should attend the clinic. Our cancellation fee will be waived.
Fortunately, our clinic it is not a centre where sick people attend to see a doctor and has not been identified as a high risk environment where large numbers of people gather.
Telehealth
Should you be quarantined or forced to self isolate, we are currently finalising measures to implement our Telehealth service. This will ensure treatment continuity and allow for assessment diagnosis, and treatment advice to be provided by way of phone or video link.
We are currently agitating for health fund rebates to be extended to physiotherapy telehealth consultations and working with our insurer to allow us to provide these services.
In these difficult times we will endeavour to provide you with continuity of care and support the community as best we can. The best policy is to use common sense and following the recommended guidelines from trusted sources such as:
Should you wish to discuss any of the issues raised above please contact our clinic on 38232400 or contact me personally at admin@resultsphysio.com.au.
I look forward to seeing you in the clinic and providing you with any updates as they become appropriate.
Regards
Scott Thornton
