Over 15 Years of Experience

Michael finished his Bachelors of Applied Science (Exercise Science) at the University of Queensland in 2003 and obtained his formal accreditation as an exercise physiologist (AEP) from ESSA over the following year. Michael has also finished a Masters Degree in Sports Coaching (Athlete Development & Rehabilitation) from the UQ as well.

Through his work as an Exercise Physiologist he has developed a wide range of experiences working with many different types of clients and has developed strong interests in athlete development and injury prevention. He also enjoys the challenge of helping the wide range of clients that he encounters on a daily basis, whether it is in the clinic, gym or pool for hydrotherapy.

Michael has an extensive history working as a performance coach in the Queensland Intrust Super Cup (Rugby League) and has also previously worked for the Brisbane Broncos in various roles. More recently Michael has worked with a number of different sports including elite and semi elite swimmers, rowing, rugby union, soccer, basketball, athletics and even dancers.

Other qualification’s Michael holds include ASCA Level 2 Coach (Strength & Conditioning), AWF Level 2 Coach (State Level Strength & Power Coach, Olympic Lifting) and Advanced Hydrotherapy Cert.

Why Michael loves his job:

Aside from the enjoyment of helping people reach their goals and maintain their overall wellbeing, Michael also likes that he doesn’t have to sit in an office all day!

Other interests:

Outside of work Michael likes to relax, watch movies and watch sports.

Interesting fact about Michael:

“I was born overseas and am a decent cook”.
